It didn’t get any better for a young Blackhawks fan in the 1960’s than watching Bobby Hull skate the length of the ice, building momentum and speed, and then firing a slap shot past the goalie.
He was a great goal scorer and a gentleman on the ice. He might have been the strongest player in the league, but only would fight if severely provoked.
Was extremely letdown and disappointed later in life when it came out that he was a wife beater.
But on the ice, he was a hero to many, including myself.
RIP to the most exciting player in Blackhawks history.
