Ducks at Golden Knights Under 6 1/2

Missing the playoffs last season was an embarrassment for the Golden Knights. So they admitted their mistake getting rid of coach Pete DeBoer and hiring Bruce Cassidy.

The move has paid off as the Golden Knights are giving up the fewest goals per game in the NHL at 2.0.

Cassidy has changed the defense to a zone-oriented style. DeBoer favored specific defensive matchups. Las Vegas also has displayed more discipline. The Golden Knights’ 2.5 penalties taken per 60 minutes is the best in the NHL. Goalies Adin Hill with a .935 save percentage and Logan Thompson with a .931 save percentage have come through, too.

The Ducks are 30th in scoring and shots on goal. They’ve managed just six goals in their last four games and are 0-for-19 in power play chances during their last six games. The tempo should be slower, too, from this opponent after the Golden Knights played a bunch of fast-paced, offensive-minded teams.

Las Vegas has a below average scoring attack, though, ranking 20th.

Note the unusual mid-afternoon start time. That’s a plus for the Under, too.

I have a very strong ticket going today with rare dual Max Unit plays in the NBA on my October Total of the Month and in college football with my strongest Friday play of the month. I also have an NBA sides play. I am 26-11 on my last 37 premium/free NBA plays going back to last season, 31-20 on my college football premium/free plays and 11-3-1 on my NHL premium/free plays. I am beating the NFL for the 27th time in 30 years going 33-16-1 on my premium/free plays.
