Dodgers minus 1 1/2 runs minus $1.20 (run line) at Diamondbacks
The Dodgers are 11-4. No surprise since they have the best lineup in baseball. But they also have won all 11 of their games by more than one run.
So to escape such high juice, I’m going to back the Dodgers on the run line against the Diamondbacks, who are in for another rough year.
The Dodgers rank No. 1 in runs scored and are first in pitching with the lowest ERA and WHIP in baseball.
The Diamondbacks are tied for the most errors in baseball and rank 28th in runs scored and 29th in batting average. There’s not one Diamondback with the possible exception of Ketel Marte who could make the Dodgers’ starting lineup.
The pitching matchup is Walker Buehler versus Merrill Kelly. Buehler is a Cy Young Award candidate. He is 4-0 with a 2.24 ERA in 11 starts against the Diamondbacks.
Kelly is the one Arizona starting pitcher I like. However, he is 0-4 with a 4.58 ERA in seven career starts versus the Dodgers.
