Hurricanes at Panthers Over 6 minus $1.15
These are two offensive-minded teams as was displayed this past Saturday night when the Hurricanes edged the Panthers, 4-3, in a shootout. Things were quiet on the scoring column until the teams exploded for five goals in the third period. It was the fourth consecutive time the Over has cashed when Carolina and the Panthers have met in Florida.
Carolina ranks in the top-eight in the league in goals, shots on goal and power play percentage. The Hurricanes would have even better numbers, but they had just lost three straight games to the defending Stanley Cup champion Lightning before their Saturday game against the Panthers.
The Lightning held Carolina to a total of three goals during those three games.
The Panthers take the most shots in the NHL. They rank in the top-10, too, in goals and power play percentage. Florida has scored three or more goals in six of its last eight games while Carolina has surrendered at least three goals in 14 of its past 15 games.
