Reds plus $1.65 at Mets
Maybe there is something wrong with his elbow or it’s just a case of getting mechanics straighten out, but Jacob deGrom hasn’t been pitching like he normally does.
The Mets are 0-3 in deGrom’s last three starts. During this span, deGrom has given up 14 runs in 13 innings.
So with an underdog price this big, I’ll throw a peanut on the Reds just in case deGrom still isn’t right.
Cincinnati is going with Anthony DeSclafani, who looked great in his last start throwing six scoreless innings against the Cardinals giving up four hits in a 12-1 win. DeSclafani has allowed just one run during his past two starts spanning 12 innings. So he certainly is in good form.
The Mets aren’t likely to have one of their better bats either as Robinson Cano has missed the past two games due to a bruised hand.
