Houston at Connecticut Under 55
Connecticut may not even score here. The Huskies’ offense is that bad and Houston’s defense is that good.
The Huskies rank 127th both in yards and points, averaging a meager 15.5 points per game. Houston ranks sixth in fewest yards allowed and 10th in sacks.
The key is how many points will the Cougars rack up?
Connecticut is 1-10 with its lone win coming against Yale. The Cougars have no reason, or motivation, to run up a big score here against this hopelessly outmatched opponent. The Cougars have their spot in the American Athletic Conference title game against Cincinnati punched for next week. There’s no reason for them to show anything new, or risk their starters playing big minutes.
Weather is a factor, too, with the forecast calling for wind in the 15-20 mph range. That could mean more running plays and less clock stoppage.
