Angels at A’s Under 9 minus $1.15 (Early Start)
Forgotten in the brilliant glare of Shohei Ohtani are the Angels missing Mike Trout and Anthony Rendon, which has hurt their offense. Discount an eight-run game against the hapless Rangers and Mike Foltynewicz and the Angels would be averaging a meager 3.0 runs during their last 10 games.
Now the Angels draw James Kaprielian and one of the better bullpens in the majors. Kaprielian has a 2.90 ERA. He’s struck out 24 during the past 24 innings and hasn’t given up more than three earned runs during any of his last seven starts.
Opposing Kaprielian is lefty Jose Suarez, who is 4-1 with a 1.80 ERA when pitching on the road. He has a 1.69 ERA in three appearances against the A’s. Oakland is 12th out of 15 teams in the American League against lefties when it comes to batting average.
There is an 8 mph wind blowing out to left, but this is offset by the spacious field dimensions at Oakland Coliseum. It’s a strong pitcher’s park. This also is a getaway day game, which usually is a plus for the Under.
Bill Miller is slated to be the home plate umpire. The Under is 29-19 (60 percent) the past two seasons when Miller has been the home plate umpire.
(I am 16-8 on my last 24 NBA plays and 10-4 on my past 14 baseball premium/free plays. My Tuesday ticket is headed by my NBA Playoff Total of the Year. I also have a strong sides play in the Suns-Bucks Game 6 matchup and I like one baseball sides play in addition to this free selection totals play.
