Nover’s View: Coyotes-Blues Free Monday Play

Coyotes at Blues Under 5 1/2 minus $1.20

This marks the Coyotes’ fourth game in a row in St. Louis. The Coyotes have upset the Blues during the past two games. So not only do these teams have rare familiarity with each other, but there should be incredible intensity especially on the Blues’ part. Those are pluses for the Under.

Arizona beat St. Louis, 3-1, this past Saturday despite getting only 19 shots on goal. The Blues went with backup goalie Ville Husso. A rested Jordan Binnington should be back in net for St. Louis. He makes a difference. He’ll face a Coyotes team that ranks 23rd in scoring at 2.7 goals a game.

Don’t expect the Blues to produce any power play goals. Not only is Arizona 24-for-25 in killing penalties on the road, but St. Louis has failed to score in 36 of 40 power play opportunities ranking 28th. This includes going 0-for-13 in three games versus the Coyotes.

The Coyotes have a top-10 defense. They draw a Blues squad that has shorthanded depth with Robert Thomas, Tyler Bozak and Zach Sanford out. The loss of Thomas, who suffered a broken thumb against the Coyotes Saturday, and Bozak really puts the Blues in a bind at center. St. Louis does get defenseman Robert Bortuzzo back for this game.

I went 2-0 on Sunday winning my Super Bowl Under play and cashing a college basketball winner. I nearly hit a 40-1 Super Bowl prop on Devin White being named MVP. White was in on 12 tackles and had an interception. No other Tampa Bay player had more than six tackles. If you are interesting in my sports service, please email me at, or message me via Twitter.
