Cubs minus $1.58 hosting Marlins (Early Start)
We knew this was going to be a baseball season like no other. Part of the bizarreness is the Marlins making the postseason. Miami is 31-29 and was outscored by 41 runs.
I actually thought the Cubs would be a higher favorite than they are. Chicago is making its fifth playoff appearance in six years. Miami last made the postseason 17 years ago.
The Cubs have a huge pitching edge with Kyle Hendricks going against Sandy Alcantara. Hendricks posted a 1.45 ERA in five September starts. Hendricks has proven himself in the postseason, at home and versus the Marlins. His ERA is 2.98 in 11 playoff games, including 10 starts. His lifetime ERA at Wrigley Field is 2.54 and he’s 3-1 with a 1.28 ERA in seven career games against the Marlins.
Hendricks is backed by seven-time All-Star closer Craig Kimbrel, who also is having a strong September not allowing a run this month with a 13-to-0 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 7 1/3 innings.
Alcantara has a 5.68 ERA in four career games versus the Cubs.
The Cubs closed their regular season by smacking nine homers and scoring 25 runs in three games against the White Sox. The Cubs are more powerful than the Marlins and the weather report is calling for wind blowing out to left at 20 mph.
I cashed my Max Unit run line play on Tuesday with the Rays. I really like today’s baseball card as I have three premium selections to go with this free play. I also have my NBA Wednesday Wipeout Winner today. I am enjoying my best NBA season going 32-11 on my last 43 plays, including 20-6 on my last 26 NBA plays. I will match that record against anyone.
