The Baseball All-Star Game still is the best of the major sports’ All-Star games. But it started to lose its luster once Pete Rose played in his final All-Star Game 31 years ago. Now it’s more of a social gathering with a lot of chosen players using excuses to avoid playing in the game. That’s not the best way to determine World Series home-field advantage.
