I can’t say he’s the greatest heavyweight of all-time, but his power, quickness, jab and ability to psych out opponents definitely puts him in the all-time top four with Joe Louis, Jack Dempsey and Jack Johnson.
Ali was a very polarizing figure in his prime during the 1960s. He was very courageous to oppose the Viet Nam War. That stance cost him a lot, but helped make him a national institution during his later years when he became revered.
