Reds plus $1.15 at Brewers
Sometimes you can find the best value with bottom of the barrel teams. That’s the case here with the Reds and Brewers.
Taylor Jungman surprisingly has been Milwaukee’s most consistent pitcher. He’s been overachieving and now is showing signs of wearing down. Jungman may have had his worst performance during his last start giving up five runs on seven hits in four innings this past Saturday in a 6-1 loss to the Nationals.
There are more red flags with Jungman. In his last three starts, spanning only 13 innings, he’s walked eight and his fly ball ratio is nearly twice his ground ball ratio.
Don’t look at Reds starter Raisel Iglesias’ 3.93 season ERA. Instead realize how brilliantly he’s been this month.
No starting pitcher has held foes to a lower batting average this month than Iglesias, who in five August starts has a 1.93 ERA and is holding opposing batters to a .145 average.
