A Government License to Steal

Did you read where one gambler came within the Colts covering against the Eagles of winning $100,000 on the Delaware Sports Lottery? This bettor put up $5 to win the six figures knowing he had to pick all 15 Sunday/Monday NFL games correctly against the spread.

This was one of 4,500 $5 15-team NFL parlays entered in Week 2. He came close, but lost when the Eagles pulled the game out. It shouldn’t come as a total shock that no person has correctly picked 15 games against the spread during the last three plus years in the Delaware Sports Lottery, which just accepts wagers on the NFL and requires suckers – I mean bettors – to make a minimum three selections per wager.

The Delaware Sports Lottery handled more than $32.5 million last season. Any state looking to add revenue should follow suit especially those who allow lotteries.
