Dream at Mystics Over 156 1/2

Both Atlanta and Washington have new coaches. Each coach – Karl Smesko for Atlanta and the Mystics’ Sydney Johnson – share the same coaching philosophy and style. That style is fast, up-tempo with plenty of 3-point shots.

I’m not sure the oddsmaker is fully aware of that because the total opened lower than I anticipated.

The Dream has two All-Stars, Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray. Howard was 14th in scoring and Gray 18th in points per game last season. The Dream’s scoring numbers should go up even more because the Dream acquired 6-foot-9 inch Brittney Griner and 6-foot-3 inch Brionna Jones to clean up missed shots with their offensive rebounding. Griner ranked 11th in scoring last year. Opponents can’t double-team Howard and Gray because of Griner’s low post presence.

The Mystics are going to be vulnerable to Atlanta’s outside/inside game because their best frontcourt player, Shakira Austin, is out with a leg injury. The Mystics, though, should be able to produce their share of points thanks to Brittney Sykes, one of the more underrated point guards in the league, and a pair of promising rookie high draft choices, Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen.

I opened 10-0-1 on my first 11 WNBA plays last season in beating the league for the fourth time in five years. I have one WNBA premium play today in addition to this free selection. I could be adding other plays. I am looking to go 18-10 on my last 28 NBA sides play with a play in the Celtics-Knicks game. I also have a totals selection in that game. I am 6-1 on my last seven premium baseball plays and 5-0 on my Stanley Cup Max Unit side/puck line plays with three plus-price winners.
