Padres minus $1.15 at Mets
The Mets are going for a three-game home sweep of the Padres. I don’t see them getting it in a pitching matchup of Dylan Cease vs Tylor Megill.
The Mets have played worse at home while the Padres have been better on the road. New York is 17-23 at Citi Field. The Padres are 19-16 on the road. It’s only the second time during their past 10 road series the Padres have lost an away series.
Cease is an elite strikeout pitcher ranking fourth in the majors. He is 4-1 with a 3.00 ERA in 48 away innings this season. His WHIP on the season is 1.00, which ranks in the top-15.
Megill has missed most of the season. This is only his sixth start. He just gave up three runs in 4 2/3 innings during his previous start to the weak-hitting Marlins, who rank last in homers and second-to-last in runs. The Mets are 1-4 in his starts this season.
